Tate Modern Yayoi Kusama Infinity Mirror Rooms Tasting Menu

Smoked Trout with Beetroot Starter

I visited this wonderful exhibition on Tuesday16 November

Sitting on the top floor of The Tate Modern the Tates Kitchen and Bar restaurant doesn’t disappoint in terms of views of the wonderful London skyline or in the food it offers.

We were shown to a table in the main restaurant but chose to sit at the bar facing the Thames and the wonderful London Skyline which was much more exciting.

We chose a three course tasting menu which consisted of starters were good particularly the smoked trout the main courses were a little uninspiring including Hake with a Beurre Blanc sauce and seasonal vegetables which was OK but not the best fish I ve ever had. The other main option was the Pork Chop with a red cabbage wedge - the dish was a bit too overwhelming. and didn’t look that appetizing . Fortunately the desserts redeemed the menu we had the chocolate mousse with figs and clementine segments which were excellent. Carlos our waiter was fantastic and opened a new bottle of champagne for the one glass I had. However if I was to go again I would definitely have the afternoon tea the scones and cake looked amazing.
